You can use SMTP port 587 with TLS if the preceding Outgoing configuration fails.
For "Outgoing server (SMTP)," change to: 465.
Change "Use the following type of encrypted connection" to "SSL.".
For "Incoming server (IMAP)," change to: 993.
Make sure the bullet point for "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected.
Check the box "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
Click the second tab, "Outgoing Server.".
After entering that information, click "More Settings." in the lower right to open "Internet E-mail Settings" window.
For "User Name," enter: uniqname For "Password," enter your UMich mail password.
For "Email Address," enter: uniqname uniqname is your uniqname.
Enter " Your Name " this is what is displayed on your outgoing emails.
Choose the second bullet point, "POP or IMAP.".
Choose the second bullet point "Manual Setup or additional server types.".
Click "Add Account" to open the Add Account wizard.
Click "Info" to bring up Account Information.
Scroll down to the section "Apps with Account Access.".
